Jackie Tice recognized with Purchase Award

Oil Painter, Jackie Tice, receives recognition from Indiana State University with the awarding of their their annual purchase award from the WVE at the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute, Indiana.

    CARBONDALE, IL, July 31, 2009 /Museums PR News/ -- After being accepted into the 65th annual Wabash Valley Exhibition the painting "Green Door" won't be coming home with creator Jackie Tice. During the opening reception on July 11th at the Swope Art Museum in Terre Haute Jackie was awarded the Indiana State University's Permanent Collection Purchase Award. She received a check for $900 with $100 dollars going to the Swope Art Museum. The painting will now become part of Indiana State University's permanent collection and be placed on public display somewhere on the ISU campus. Jackie is quoted as saying, " To have your work recognized with an award is nice, but to have that recognition come in the form of a purchase is even better, especially when it come from an institution like ISU."
